With a theatrical sigh, I decide to approach the mummified remains of the monk, eager to explore its secrets. After all, one can never have too many skeletons in their closet, or so they say.
Ah, what a delightful sight to behold - another wretched corpse for me to search through. I saunter towards the lifeless form with a nose crinkled in exaggerated disgust, as if I were about to indulge in a feast of overripe fruit. I ponder, not for the first time, what kind of pitiful creature this must have been in its former life.
As I reach out to touch the tattered clothes and empty pockets of the mummy, I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment at the lack of hidden compartments or secret stashes. The monk's lifeless body yields nothing but the faintest echoes of its past regrets, confirming my suspicions that this poor soul was as unremarkable in life as they are now in death.
As I withdraw my hands from the mummy, I give it a condescending pat on its desiccated shoulder and whisper under my breath, "Better luck next time, dear fellow." After all, one must always maintain a certain level of decorum when dealing with the dead, even if they do happen to be rather disappointing.
Having thoroughly inspected and found lacking the mummy's earthly remains, I turn my gaze back towards the room, pondering my next move. And so, with my trusty darkvision guiding me through the dimly lit chamber, I make up my mind to leave this dismal room behind and return to the previous chamber. My journey continues, ever onwards through the labyrinthine depths of this ancient crypt, as I search for riches, adventure, and perhaps even a glimmer of hope in this seemingly endless sea of despair.
