As I tread down this 60-foot passageway, I can't help but feel a sense of relief as the darkness envelops me. My darkvision proves to be quite useful in these situations, allowing me to navigate through the pitch black with ease. I soon find myself standing at the edge of an enormous cavern, my eyes trying to take in the vastness of this natural wonder.
The limestone walls are adorned with mosses and lichens, while vibrant fungi thrive on the damp floor. The air is heavy with a musty scent that seems to permeate every corner of this place. Water droplets from overhead create a soothing melody as they plop into the 30-foot wide pool in the center of the chamber.
My gaze is drawn to the dark-green pond, its surface marred by a layer of scum that brings to mind images of stagnant algae. I shudder at the thought of what could be lurking beneath those murky waters. A small stream emerges from one corner, disappearing into a chasm large enough for a person to pass through.
As I ponder my next move, I consider my options: should I examine that peculiar crack on the wall? Or perhaps head back to the 4-way intersection I passed earlier? But something about that scummy pond is just too intriguing. Maybe I'll inspect its edge and see what secrets it might hold. Yes, let's do that. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
