I find myself standing in an upward sloping tunnel, surrounded by a thick darkness that only my darkvision allows me to penetrate. The air is cool and damp, with the faint sound of trickling water echoing off the walls. A few paces away lies the remains of a once formidable giant spider, its eight hairy legs splayed out in death. I can't help but feel a twinge of satisfaction at having defeated such a vile creature, even if it did nearly kill me.
As I stand there, basking in my own glory, I notice a narrow crack in the wall that I hadn't seen before. My curiosity piqued, I approach it and examine the crack more closely. It looks like it could lead to something interesting, but then again, it could also be nothing. I can't make up my mind about what to do. Should I try to squeeze through the crack and see where it leads, or should I head back to the four-way intersection I passed earlier? I can't decide, so I mutter to myself, "What should I do, what should I do?"
Before I can make a decision, I hear a faint hissing sound behind me. I turn around just in time to see the giant spider launch itself at me, its fangs poised for a venomous bite. I curse myself for letting my guard down and prepare for battle.
The combat is fierce, with the spider attacking relentlessly with its venomous bite. I manage to land a few hits with my battleaxe, but the spider's attacks are devastating. It strikes again and again, each time causing me significant damage. My HP quickly dwindles, and I can feel myself getting weaker by the second.
Just when I think all is lost, a mysterious divine healing saves me from certain death. An unknown dark god, unnamed and unseen, intervenes and restores my HP to full. I take a moment to catch my breath before resuming the fight, but it's not long before the spider lands another venomous bite. This time, there is no divine intervention, and I succumb to the poison. My HP reaches 0, and I fall to the ground, lifeless.
